Sunday- It Feels Like We Are On Vacation!

The weather here is so warm, it feels like we are vacationing in Florida! And the kids had a chance to really get out and enjoy the day- we ate our breakfast outside next to the pool, we then headed over to the playground for awhile, and played soccer with the some of the resident kids. After lunch some of us took a walk out to the local supermarket and took the time to gaze at the Pearl River for a bit. Next we tried the swimming pool (quite cold!), and we ended the day by having Jack Mao and his family join us here for dinner.

The kids (except for Lili Ann) all cuddled in bed together, sleeping!

Charlotte was fascinated with the clothes dryer in our apartment!

Charlotte loved the playground- she screamed and squealed with delight at going down the slides and being pushed in the swing, and on riding the see-saw with Mom. She really amazed us with her dexterity- climbing the pole ladder to get up onto the structure and crossing the cargo net bridge.

Here is Charlotte in her new bathing suit trying out the swimming pool. As with so many of the new experiences we have had with her, she is so happy and enthusiastic! The pool was too cold to really swim, but she sure enjoyed splashing around at the edge for awhile!

Jack, his wife, and his daughter Anna came by our room early so that we would all have some time together before we walked over to the restaurant. They had never heard of the Wii video game, so our boys were all too happy to demonstrate how to play and got Anna involved in a game of Wii bowling! Jack was kind enough to bring us several bottles of local apple plum wine….. very sweet like a dessert wine. So we toasted our friendship and our good fortune of all being together again.

After dinner we came back to the room and showed the Mao family the video we had made of our prior trip to adopt Lili Ann. Jack was really touched by it and we promised that we would make him a copy!

I am so glad you have nice weather and everyone can get out in the sunshine. Our last trip to China felt so long because of the cold wet weather.
Paige has the same enthusiasm for new things as Charlotte. :-)
