Our Travel Plans are Made!

Things are really getting exciting around here! Our travel plans have been made! We are leaving on Thursday March 27th and flying to Nanjing via Beijing. We will arrive in Nanjing on Friday night. The weekend will be spent exploring the city with some friends of ours who live in Nanjing- and we are looking forward to seeing it from a native's point of view! (And of course we will celebrate my father's birthday on Sunday too).

Monday March 31st is our BIG DAY! The day that will change our family for forever as we welcome Charlotte YanFei into our lives. On Tuesday we will return to the Civil Affairs Bureau to process the China-side of the adoption. And from that day on, it will all be official!

We will stay in Nanjing through Saturday afternoon April 5th, when we will depart for the Southern city of Guangzhou. A city close to our hearts because it is where stayed for 2 weeks while adopting Lili Ann in December 2006. Over the next few days we will complete the US-side of the adoption process, culminating in a swearing-in ceremony on Thursday April 10th. And we will leave China to head home on Friday April 11th (Spencer's birthday).

I was commenting to my new friend Amy that over the last few weeks when we were waiting for travel approval, days just seemed to crawl by, hour by hour, while we waited for the phone call with the news of our travel permission. And now that we have it- the days are flying by at warp speed!
